Delivered with European 2 pin plug - Do not buyJuly 13, 2010 dukeofearl According to Trading Standards, electrical equipment purchased in the UK must be fitted with a BS1363 3 pin square plug. The transformer delivered with the 2 boxes I purchased was not.....
Set to FailJuly 11, 2010 mykonos(greece) Very disappointed with this. It seems as if it has a "cut off" point for functioning (within around 18 months). Premium rate freeview box for very little longevity.
great item but foreign plug and french instructionsJuly 2, 2010 Mr. C. I. Harris(UK Derby) This item is ok i guess but what i really want to know is why do suppliers never check to see if they are compatable for use within the UK mine came with a foreign 2 pin plug and french instructions. really dissapointed
Great to useJune 19, 2010 N. Fonseka(Europe) This freeview box is one of the slimmest and fits in very well with all your other TV related products. The controller is light and has one of the best layouts. It is reassuringly Philips.
Philips DTR220 set top boxMay 29, 2010 S. Godfrey Although this little digital freeiew set top box looks great, please be warned that the blue LED blinks into life at approx 3am every morning when carrying out its software update. Our DTR220 is installed in the bedroom and the first time this happened I thought we had the emergency services outside!! The obvious answer is to switch it onto standby each night but this just fills the whole room with a bright blue light. We now have to cover the front of the unit before going to sleep. I've not really had a good night sleep since purchasing this box and would definitely warn epilepsy sufferers from buying it.
My other major gripe is the loss of mendip bbc channels to channel 800s since the digital switchover. I've tried to move them back to the top using various guides but they just won't stay where I want them to.
The epg is not as useful as other systems and the remote is a bit fiddly, but all-in-all it's OK
