In principle this is a great product, i have built in freeview on my tv so didnt require a cumbersome twin tuner box and being able to record onto whichever portable harddrive or usb stick you want is very convenient......The reality is a poor quality unit that seems to suffer from numerous faults. The first unit arrived (well the postoffice card arrived letting me know that it was at the depot on the other side of town) and as another reviewer commented the instruction manual is ridiculously small but after a time i got a picture on the screen, unfortunately thats as far as i got as the remote control had no affect whatsoever (even after having to go out and get some batteries as none were supplied!). Eventually i gave up trying, repacked the unit and returned it for a replacement. A week and another trip across town later, i was installing the new one. Everything was great, i even had the batteries from the last time, i managed to get the unit tuned in and was impressed with the picture quality, wasnt keen on the navigator but maybe would have got used to it in time. I even managed to watch a film off my harddrive so was happy......for 2 days! Then the picture kept going blue or would lose half the screen, or a third, then it would come back but the colour and brightness were wrong. Conscious of the fact that my week to return without quibble was running out i returned to amazon for a refund as i have no faith in a replacement which may be ok for a day, a week or a month but then try getting your refund!
I have to say that Amazon were superb regarding the returns process, this is the first thing ive had to return and their service couldnt be better.
