EPG very slow even with latest firmware upgrade September 4, 2010 J. E. Nicholls I upgraded to HD after my old Tvonics box finally died. The picture on HD channels is excellent but standard freeview looks a bit worse than my old box. The main problem with this box is the menus are like wading through treacle. There was a small improvement with the latest firmware upgrade but still painfully slow to respond. It sounds like a small problem but a slightly better picture just isn't worth the irritating wait every time I want to scroll through the guide or change channel

Ive had the same problems as other reveiwers, box freezes, sound goes off when I change channel, fast forward a recording and the sound goes.I had the first box two hours, the second box a couple of days as the sagem help line attempted to sort the problem, then I uploaded the new software to no avail, I am now on my third box and this one is going back today and I am getting my money back. Its a load of rubbish.
Sagem RTI90-320 T2 HD PVR August 21, 2010 D. J. Palmer 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Most of the negative comments by previous reviewers have been rectified by the software update. The slow EPG has been speeded up although still slow compared to my Humax. The sound drop-outs have been rectified. The picture reproduction in both SD and HD is excellent, it is easy to record and play back selected programmes. I have none of the problems with HD recordings mentioned by some.
This is a very good PVR for the price and I would recommend it.
Awful machine August 13, 2010 William D. Noble (UK) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This machine is slow slow slow.....painfully slow. It takes forever to scroll through the EPG. It also doesn't let you record some programs as it thinks they are past programs even though they are not. It also sometimes forgets to record programs that have been set to record. The only thing I can say in its favor is that the image quality is very good.
Sagem Freeview HD Recorder August 4, 2010 John Redman 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Really pleased I bought this, it's performed well so far.
My initial feedback was that I agreed with some other reviews and that the EPG was a little sticky, after a software update (from the sagem website) it is now probably 10-20% more fluid and reactive, but I remember when I first had Sky plus and that was the same as this, so no real problems in general, all fine and working smoothly now like a £200+ product should.
I like the look of the menu's, it gives the usual information and guide on what your about to watch and the info bar gives a signal strengh icon and if your watching in HD or not, so EPG in general is nice and clear.
I changed mine from 1080i to 1080p and I can't really notice the difference, but might be able to once I record more fast moving movies or sport.
The audio has various options, which I have not used yet, but could come in handy.
Whilst recording and playing back I have to say that it is doing everything right, also with series link performing well.
The signal strengh in the menu section is something I would say to keep any eye on. My signal strengh is only 26% which seems low but on another note the signal quality is 94% so I guess these 2 things cancel each other out. I think that for an early HD product and considering that the signal is not great everywhere this looks like it could only improve.
Picture quality is crystal clear on HD and on standard channels it's the usual standard, depending on what programme your watching.
I would recommend this to anyone who has/is using sky or a normal freeview box as a good future product to include recording and HD.
No faults at all to report, very nice HD pictures.
