i have been very pleased with the tv,the picture is excellent,its easy to use all the functions and i would highly recommend this tv

Fabulous picture quality.
Average sound quality.
The swivel mechanism between screen and stand is stiff, and requires two hands and a firm grip to move the screen left or right.

I don't really have any complaints about this TV. Pretty much what you'd expect from Sony. Possibly a tad over priced but in no way am I dissapointed.
Very, very easy to set up, although setting it up with an xbox, cinema kit and Sky HD box has meant I've needed to use the majority of its input/output sockets (thanfully there are loads!) - BTW you may have read about the lag when connecting an XBOX. I found there was a slight sound delay from my TV to cinema kit. (easily sorted by connecting the xbox directly to my hi-fi)
SD pictures are pretty sharp. HD pictures are brilliant. You'll need to tweak the settings, but when you find what suits you, you'll be impressed for sure.
Although I'm hooked up to a surround sound system I checked the TV speaker. I'd read it was pretty rubbish. Wrong. Bang it up to about 45 and you'll see what I mean. Great sound as long as you aren't trying to fill a room about 30ft long. In a 'normal' house, this TV sound is easily good enough.
If you can still get hold of one of these, I'd nab it while you can.

Have had it for 8 months.
I spent most of my adult life as a TV director. I lived years in most of the top edit suites with the best equipment then available. Quite simply the HD here provides the best picture i have ever seen. That includes both studio monitors and retail models. The SD is good but it suffers from the obvious comparison with the stunningly outstanding HD. As HD channels continue to proliferate, this set will be appreciated more and more.
Is there clouding in the corners? I notice it only when there is a break in the signal. So long as there is signal, even if it is pitch black, I cannot see a thing, and believe me, I have looked.
If I have a regret, it is that the price has tumbled in the 8 months that I have owned the set. Would the set be my choice today? At the current price it is very competitive, but I would have a hard look at what the new models have to offer like Freeview HD and proper access to the internet. In any event I expect I would stick with Sony and that fantastic HD picture.

I purchased this TV for my mother, sadly, it had a fault after a couple of months. Just wanted to put on here that after having contacted Amazon, they handled it fantastically! In less than a week new TV had arrived and the damaged one was picked up for return, free of charge. Double thumbs up for Amazon for handling what could have been a total headache situation really well :oD oh and the TV is great too, I have the 37" version and I love it :oD
