I did a 3 week long research.
Read reviews on amazon & other tech web site.
However, when I visited the John Lewis showroon where panasonic/sony/LG & toshiba all of them were there, one could not make the difference.
Why? as all of them use the showroom mod which dazzles the eye any how.
However I requsted them to put the models on autoview mode... There it stood out. I wont say which off the lot were worse..
I just compared the no frill model for all 4 brands for 37/42 inch & found Toshiba to be most well equipped and a better performer.

I ordered this TV as a replacement following flood damage and was unopened until return from a holiday.
and is now 5 days out of warranty. This is a HD "ready" TV and not a full HD TV as claimed by Amazon
I see in other reviews that other customers have been mislead by this false description I want to order another set (WITH FULL HD) but as I can find no way of contacting Amazon cannot seek an assurance that this time round I will receive the product as described?

Very good telly, picture and menus are excellent, slight intermittent sound issue through one HDMI slot is easily rectified by changing input and then back again. Overall though very happy with purchase.

Before I purchased this product I read all the reviews posted about it already and they were very positive. I must say I'm not disappointed at all with the product itself. The manual which comes with it is pretty basic but there are lots of functions I am not aware of and I can't be bothered to go to the website to find out about them. We just tend to muddle along trying this and that. The TV itself was really easy to set up. I had it out of the box and set up in time to surprise my husband when he came back from work. The TV guide function is great - very clear, easy to use and you can search by category too. The picture quality is excellent but then we did have an old CRT before this so it was bound to be better! Overall a great TV for a great price.

I thought at first 37" may be too big but it is just right.
