Sony EX403 is NOT wireless August 28, 2010 MG 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
Contradiction to what Sony advertise/describe the EX403 range, this TV is NOT wireless - the only way you can make it wireless is to buy additional product (wireless dongle).
The picture is good but be prepared to pay additional money, 70 GBP, to get what Sony advertised on the box. This is why I am unhappy with this product and Sony.
Toshiba Regza does exactly the same job (great picture quality) as the EX403 for about 100 GBP less.
Happy with purchase August 21, 2010 FrankinUK 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Purchased the Sony as replacement for similar-sized own-brand LCD-TV from a leading retailer which I had returned as not fit for purpose on account of poor sound quality and poor Freeview reception via the inbuilt FV receiver.
Very happy with the Sony on both those counts and on all-round performance on broadcast SDTV (I'm not yet equipped for HD reception and HD Freeview is a year away). Also delighted with Amazon price and service. Installation and set-up very simple, less than 20 minutes from opening the box to perfect viewing and listening, with very little fine-adjustment needed via the simple on-screen menus.
Only slight niggle is the high-gloss black surround which throws up distracting reflections - matt would have been better.
Excellent 37" SONY TV - Best overall August 13, 2010 Airstream 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This was selected carefully as best overall 37" Full HD TV. It was bought for a retired couple and they are very pleased with it. They had a professional set the TV up for them who commented that it was the best picture he has seen on this type of TV. They cannot wait for the HD freeview to be turned on in their area west of Bristol. The ordering procedure went smoothly, the tracking information was accurate. Delivery was ahead of schedule. And since the price has now gone up slightly it was worth paying for the higher quality.
Great TV August 12, 2010 STE 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Pro's:
Great colours
Deep Blacks
Interface is quick and really easy to use
Freeview HD is built in (though i personally cant really tell the difference)
Its able to play music and pictures from a USB memory stick, which is great when friends are round you can have a nice slideshow in the background
Con's
Although it is wifi ready you have to buy an extra Dongle (which itself is around £70)
It says it is DivX compatable, but you have to register it and unless I am missing something it wont play the majority of downloaded movies.
Not quite a 5* July 13, 2010 boysnell 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
Great TV, nice build quality and looks ok. Works well with PS3 and the HD channels are great (even started watching Springwatch!)
Not tried the internet as yet, don't want to pay £70 for dongle.
Three negatives so far (hence 4 stars):
1. On line manual is a pain when computer is another room.
2. When I plugged in the CAM card (topuptv) the HD channels were scrambled (very strange!) Will be contacting Sony.
3. Not the best looking tv on the market.
