5 out of 5 stars Fantastic and value for money   September 3, 2010
Tasel (London, UK)
We've had the TV for about a month now, and we have to say that we are very happy with it. The screen is pristine, the pixels don't seem to "swim around" as they do on many other flatscreen TVs.

The one thing that is a little worrying is that in-built freeview doesn't seem to work. But we are not sure whether (1) it's the TV, (2) it's the area or (2) it's our aerial socket that causes this problem. If you have cable, it's probably gonna be fine.

It looks Really Elegent, mounted upon the black stained glass stand, bought as a package for an extra £50. Picture Really excellent, sound is crisp and clear. Even though I'd missed out on the price i.e [...], as the following day, the price tag went to [...]. Still Excellent value though! All this for [...]. Seems a Lovely TV...we have it plugged into a new anti-surge mains adapter. To protect it!

I bought this TV as I've just moved house and was looking for a new 42" for the living room. I didn't really weigh up the pro's & con's of Plasma and LCD TV's, I just saw the good reviews for this model and decided to take a punt on it as at just over £400 it seemed a pretty good deal!

It took 5 minutes with a Philips screwdriver to attach it to the base then when the tv is first switched on it automatically guides you through the process of scanning for channels. The picture quality is excellent, I've tried it from various seats ranging from 6' to 15' away from the screen with no reduction. It's also really easy (one button)to change the picture size, sound type, turn on subtitles etc and I like the ease with which you can get a full description of what's on other channels without having to flick over (something that annoyed me when I had sky!)

I've also quickly tried the USB port, playing a little slide show of pictures from my camera

All in all I'm very happy with it, the only (very minor) niggle I have is the Windows-esque tune it plays when it's turned on or off, I'll have to check the instructions to see if it can be turned off!

I am very happy with this TV. Summary:

PROS: Great Picture quality for 720p. Sleek look. Excellent navigation interface. Reads external media via USB and plays video/photo/music very well

CONS: Does not play mkv and base stand does not allow TV rotation (which it appears)
